BIOGRAPHY

It all started when Minggus Gaspersz started his musical carreer at the age of 16 in a progrockband called "Confusion" which played some known covers as well as their own rockmusic.

After "Confusion" he played in a couple of projects were his influences where mostly neoclassical styles and bands.

Foundation for Silent Edge today was made together with Rico Tentua whome started playing his bassguitar some 9 years ago in the band "Out of Nowhere", which played spherical rockmusic with elements from "Tesla" and "Metal Church".

Joined by Emo Suripatty (whose most important influences are Paganinni, Michael Romeo and Yngwie Malmsteen) they make a start in working on material from which soon becomes clear that this band definitely has potential.

Together with drummer Karl-Josef Kiriwenno and singer Tom Post some gigs are played in the Netherlands and they reached the final rounds of regional popcontest "de Parel van de Betuwe" in 1996 and 1997. In that first year (1996) guitarist Emo Suripatty gained the status of best guitarist in "de Parel van de Betuwe".....

December 1998 was the time of the first demo-recording. At that time Karl-Josef Kiriwenno was no longer a bandmember so the recording took place with freelance drummer Jean-Paul Gaspersz. Inspired by the positive feedback on this piece of work the band continues on their course of making good music.

By the end of December 1998 Rik Bruineman joined in with the band giving the band new possibilities with his strongly Dream Theater oriented drum patterns and Symphony X oriented double bass techniques.

In November 1999 singer Tom Post is replaced with ex-Confusion vocalist Willem Verwoert whose unique spherical vocals appear to be the last link needed in order to shape Silent Edge.

Silent Edge plays melodical progressive hardrock / metal. In this they combine classical oriented work with powerfull metal riffs and are able to find the balance between technical masterpieces, powerfull metal and spherical ballads obviously influenced by bands like: Symphony X, Artension, Rush, Journey, Dream Theater and Yngwie Malmsteen.

Silent Edge plays at the cutting edge of the musical horizon, always looking for the source of inspirational silence.........

Silent Edge is a new Dutch band in the progressive music world, inspired by bands like Symphony X, Dream Theater, Journey, Artension and many others.

The band has been active since 1995 however the final setup was reached last November (1999).

Silent Edge consists of five members :
